Softball Pitching Tips – The Slingshot Underhand Delivery

If you’re a young softball pitcher, you may be experiencing some difficulty with the windmill pitch. Perhaps, you should consider trying another delivery when softball pitching. This tip can be very beneficial to you:

Younger players may have trouble coordinating all the different aspects of the windmill pitch. In this case, a slingshot underhand delivery is also an option. In the slingshot, you assume the same stance and grip as for the fastpitch delivery, then take the ball out of the glove and swing it back to a spot above your head before reversing for the downswing. The downswing, stride, release, and follow-through are the same as for the windmill from that point forward.
